Anas Alhashmi has been appointed as Consultant – Minister’s Office at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Saudi Arabia. This new role marks another milestone in his distinguished career, which spans academia, research, and national technology initiatives.
Prior to this appointment, Anas served as Director of Technology Research and Consultant – Technology Foresight within MCIT, contributing to strategic projects that drive the Kingdom’s digital transformation. His expertise extends to advisory roles, including serving as Member of the Advisory Committee at King Khalid University and Founding Member of the Unmanned Vehicles Technologies Association.
From 2018 to 2024, he was a key academic leader at the University of Jeddah, holding positions as Department Chair, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor. His academic work has been complemented by participation in high-level government steering committees focused on advancing critical technology and innovation.
Anas’s deep knowledge in technology strategy, foresight, and innovation policy, combined with his leadership in both government and education, positions him as a key contributor to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. His appointment reflects MCIT’s commitment to leveraging top talent in shaping the Kingdom’s future digital economy.
